The web2.0 from Kansas

Written by
Kendall Schoenrock

This is the best explination of Web2.0 that I’ve seen and what makes me grin is that the author and assistant professor of cultural anthropology Michael Welsch is from Kansas State University. KSU is right next to my home town in Kansas and I actually studied computer programming there when I was in high school. From Michael’s official KSU website:

Currently Wesch is launching the Digital Ethnography working group at Kansas State University to examine the impacts of digital technology on human interaction. The first outcome of this work was a short video called “Web 2.0 … The Machine is Us/ing Us.” The video was released on YouTube on January 31st 2007 and quickly became the most popular video in the blogosphere and the #1 featured YouTube video on February 7th 2007.

Very cool. Keep up the great work at KSU. I look forward to more posts on this subject. His blog went straight to my rss reader.

So very true. I’ve watched it over and over again – what a great piece of work.
