Wallhogs: Make money from your photos!

Here is an important update from the home office at Wallhogs.com. This post references the wallhogs catalogue. There are two primany ways to make a wallhog wall graphic. First is through 100% customization. You can take any image (3 mega pixels or better), upload it to our site and print off your image on a semi-adhesive vinyl for your walls.

Wallhogs LogoThe other way is to select an image from our catalogue. It then struck us that it would be very cool for people to be able to share their images with each other. What if you could upload images to our website and recieve payment if others want that same photo on their walls? Genius! Here is our formal invite:

Dear Artist and Photographers,

We are now preparing the Wallhog catalogue to launch and are ready to import your photos and graphics. Please send by email any photo or graphic you would like to include in the catalogue to pmc [@] wallhogs.com

Here are the requirements:

1. Photos must be at least 2048×1536 – this will allow us to scale it up to a 7 ft hog. Graphics should be in eps (vector format).
2. Please include either your email address that you set up your wallhog account with, or the corresponding url we previously sent back to you if any. This will allow you to get credit on sales.
3. Specify a category – don’t worry if it is not in our catalogue because we might end up adding it. examples are nature, sports, politics, religion, etc. If you fail to put in a category we’ll place it where we think it works best.
4. Please include your alias or name so we can include it in the tags – this will be your PUBLIC name and will be visable to the world.
5. Remember that we can print on vinyl, canvas and poster paper. You may have a photo of say a basketball player which you want to use as both a vinyl – so you would perhaps elect to remove the background around the play or a poster where you would leave the entire photo. In that case, please submit this as two distinct products. You can print vinyls without stripping out backgrounds. For example, you may have a photo of a city scape and that would be printed better as the entire photo. It’s up to you.
6. If you have questions please contact us at either cs [@] wallhogs.com or pmc [@] wallhogs.com.
Feel free to be creative with your work – you can add text or thought bubbles to your photos, for example.

As I mentioned, you will receive a 20% commission on sales of your work. The only exception being if an affiliate refers the buyer and then we split the commission 10 to them and 10 to the artist. For now, we are driving the vast majority of our traffic so this is unlikely to impact you until we have a more robust affiliate program.

We really appreciate you contributing content to our catalogue. Please invite fellow artists or photographers and remember to push your friends and family over to buy your work ;-)
